Swan 411/010
Swan 411 Hull #010 AVISTA - year : 1978 - hull colour :White

Fully Restored Swan 411

I have owned and restored Avista over 16 years. She probably the best example afloat and is equipped to sail around the world. The list of cruising equipment is very extensive. She is cutter rigged for ease of handling and frequently sailed singlehanded. For fuller details please contact me. See the Yachting Monthly "You tube" video and review.

During 2015 and 2016 the engine was removed and given a substantial service; repainted together with a full stripping out and refurbishment of the engine compartment. Replacement Perkins engine bearers were fitted with a new semi flexible drive shaft, which reduced noise and vibration.

A rare opportunity arises to take ownership of a truly beautiful 1977 Sparkman & Stevens designed Swan 411 cruiser racer. The current owner has had her since 1998 and has lovingly and carefully maintained her ensuring that she is always ready for use. New standing rigging in 2011/12 and a very comprehensive inventory makes her a must view boat and arguably the best kept example on the market today. Viewings can readily be arranged by contacting Ancasta Port Hamble.

Owner Comments

"Avista" is a modern classic by Sparkman & Stevens and Nautor Swan. I have very extensively overhauled and updated the equipment on Avista, without compromising the original design, since buying her in 1998. Avista has been boat yard maintained in my ownership.
S&S Swans are probably the best of all Swans produced to date and certainly Avista is the best 411 in the world. Swan 411s are a development of the popular Swan 41 and they are a very wellproportioned yacht. She is a wonderful compromise between the aesthetics of yesterday and the performance of today. Her overhangs, tumblehome and graceful sheer are combined with a hull and rig that is designed to work in any conditions. The Swan 411 is a very powerful yacht; the hull form stability and high displacement ratio, V section forward and longish fin keel, skeg hung rudder, together with the cutter rig make it a very comfortable and capable ocean passage making yacht. Avista is hull no 010 (42 were built) and was the first 411 to have the deeper rudder fitted by Nautor following feedback from the previously built 411 yachts.

During 2015 and 2016 the engine was removed and given a substantial service; repainted together with a full stripping out and refurbishment of the engine compartment. Replacement Perkins engine bearers were fitted with a new semi flexible drive shaft, which reduced noise and vibration.
