I agree, there is a beautiful picture of her finishing the race on the web with great looking North sails. To win again after 77 years is an amazing achievement. I understand the owner is on a mission to try to win all the races again that she won in the past!

Interestingly, she did it more quickly this time than when she won in 1936. Perhaps due to the weather, but a 7.8 knot average for 2,200 miles is incredible.

A pity Olin did not lived enough to see what his beloved Dorade achieved !

This is the surviving Dorade vent from Dorade. It was removed from Dorade when Cantiere Navale Dell Argentario fitted new ones during her restoration about 15 years ago. It was originally fitted in 1929. An important piece of history for me, but not everyone shares my enthusiasm for it!
