Three Views of Swan 55
In the next several months will be studying the 55. Where are large files of three views of the Swan 55 Yawl? The two views featured on the Swan 55 page
http://www.classicswan.org/swan_55.php
are to small to study.
Thank you ahead of time for a great forum.

Dear Artisthos
It appears that the S55-information on the S&S website can not be zoomed any more. Pls let me know if you need better resolution.
Kind regards
Lars

oops, I have made a confusion, sorry for this. I opened the thread from a smartphone and zoomed the image from the link. I realize now that it has a low definition and it is not so easy to read the details. There is a copyright, so most probably Lars will solve this issue.
Thank you for your patience,
Matteo Grampus 47/016

The original Swan 55 is one of my favourites and whenever you see one on the water they are very beautiful. I can remember that they were based on a very successful South African race boat called Jacaranda which was built in alloy a bit like Tenacious was for the Swan 65. There is an interesting article on the old S&S blog which describes a first sail of the 55 with Rod Stephens on board.
In the UK we used to see a lot of Gandalf which was raced very successfully by Don Wood, he won a Swan European regatta. He had very good sails and an Admirals Cup helmsman and Solent expert, Tom Richardson, on the wheel.
It was great to see Gandalf with new owners and a very young crew at Matteo's rendezvous in Elba

Dear Gavin
Thank you for the interesting information.
Jacaranda, S&S Design 2028, participated in the first Whitbread race, but only on the first leg. She did not start on the second leg, does anybody know the reason?
It appears nothing heard of her since, she probably has another name.
Kind regards
Lars
