Mast Template-making method
Dear All,

I need to make a female template of the mast section so that I can have a mast fitting fabricated.

I plan to use 1/4 inch plywood - anyone have a fool-proof method that they might like to share?

thanks,

Hi Chris:

I recall making my template out of cardboard. I templated a quarter profile of the mast then tansfered it to another piece of card board and mirrored the quarter profile to make a half section profile.

I may have the profile somewhere in my files, I will send you a copy if I can find it. You can use it as a basis for your template.

Fair winds,

Hiro

Hi Hiro,

I hope you had a wonderful sailing season! Thank you for your offer. I am hoping to make the attempt at a template this weekend - I'll let you know how it goes.

If you do find your template, I can probably use it!

With warm regards,

The method I was thinking of, but could not remember until now, was the joggle stick. I'll try it this weekend and take pictures.
