Grey water tank (411) Hi All
Our grey water holding area (under the head floor) has cracked, and the water now seeps into the bilge. We are likely to have to reglass a large area of the sump. Anyone else had to do this? Also, how best to approach it, as the current floor is moulded, with only a small(ish) inspection panel under the duckboards where the drain goes in.
Any and all suggestions welcome!

Dear Tom
There are at least two alternatives:
1- Cut out a big enough panel in the shower pan floor to enable repair of the sump tank. The panel then should be re-attached along the edges, preferably by bolting.
2- Cut a hole below the head door and into the sump tank. Lead a hose from the present shower pan drain fitting out through the holes to a sump tank box with pump located under the floorboards. The available height may be a restriction.
See for example http://www.whalepumps.com/marine/product.aspx?Category_ID=10020&Product_ID=10046&FriendlyID=Whale-Shower-Sump-System
Kind regards
Lars

Lars,
Thank you. #1 had occurred to me as the 'obvious, but messy, solution'. #2, not so much. I will spend later this week with a measuring tape to see whether this might work. But I think #1 is the likely candidate.
