Cutter rig on swan 44?

Hi everyone,

for the past two years I have sailed my S&S swan 44 Ithaka with a sloop rig, an overlapping Genoa with a tuff luff and made no use of the inner forestay.  (Which I keep attached to the shroud).

I am am now considering moving to a cutter rig with a furlers on both the head stay and inner forestay.  It should make it easier to sail her short handed and also it seems to be a better set up for longer offshore voyages

I wonder if any member has used a cutter rig on their Swans and what your experience has been. How have the Yankee sails and staysails been cut?

Did you ave to install extra winches for the staysail sheets in addition to additional inside tracks?

many thanks in advance.

Dear Giovanni

I think the 44 originally had jib sheeting points near the chainplates, as shown on the photo
Kind regards
Lars
