Topcoat for bilge

Does somebody have a source for the brown bilge topcoat? I found one thread mentioning that Reichhold 4005 is the denominator for the brown topcoat, but did not find any reference on the Internet for that, neither under Reichhold nor under Norpol. Alternatively a RAL code would also help.

Thank you for any help!

Dear Christian

The topcoat/gelcoat type was Norpol NGA, and I did find this product on Reichholds website, it proudly said that available in nearly 7000 colours, but no reference to where one could find a colour chart.
Suggest you contact a Reichhold outlet and ask about this colour code.
It is likely that it does not have a RAL equivalent.
Kind regards
Lars

Thank you very much Lars! I have contacted Nautor spare parts in the meantime, and they say that the reference for the topcoat is MT4005HX, they have no RAL code for it. I will now try to find a distributor, and report back here.

Thank you Rob!

Yves Le Cornec from Nautor Villefrance confirmed that Ashland TM 66100 H is what they are using. Now I am trying to find a distributor who is willing to sell less than 20kg of it.

Dear Christian,

Good luck with finding the topcoat, I was told that the catalyst is also tricky to obtain and it is particularly volatile apparently.

The photo is of a 20kg tub of what was left of a job done at Villefranche on my 47 - 2 years ago. I would offer it to you, but it may be out of date according to manufacturers guidelines which might be a consideration if you find it in smaller quantities.

Best regards

Rob

Thank you for your kind offer Rob :-)

I have found a distributor who sells 1kg. I need to pass through another company to buy it though. Once this is done and tested on the boat, I will report back here.

This may take a moment, since the Corona virus has cut me off the boat. As a surrogate I started to do maintenance work on my old motorcycle.

Hi, bought it a few years ago from a finnish shop (Kevra Oy, at Turku) that does not exist anymore. I suppose You can order it from:

wendashop.fi

Just use "google translate web page" to translate it to a lanquage You'd prefer. If Youhave any problem with them I'll help You (and others) with the order.
