Swan hatches, information wanted

Hello everyone,

Does anyone have any idea what hatches we have on board? If so, are they still available to replace?

We have them on our Swan 44 S&S (1973): RepoMan

Regards,
Eddy Lekens

Dear Eddy

If you refer to the hatches each side of the entrance these are not available any more.
Were made locally at the time of build.
You need to find something similar.
Kind regards
Lars

Hello Eddy,

all these hatches are made by Goyot, a French brand witch doesnt exist now…

there is in Italy a company that rebuilds these hatches and all the spare parts,

i will send the coordonates tomorrow, they are in my office…

Sorry for my precedent post, the brand still exists and still build hatches,

and it is not Goyot but GOIOT, you can find their website, they have some spare, even old but not much.

the italian company is G&G Rigging, see pictures below, they have more spares for old hatches and can rebuild on command…

Hi Eddy,

I'd recommend to keep the original Goiot hatches if possible - from our experience they can be refurbished e.g. with new rubber seals, new plexiglas etc.. This worked very well for thee large Goiot hatch above the living area on Kairos. Was tight and as good as new afterwards.

As (sadly) with most things these days I believe 'they don't make them as good as they used to be anymore' so we are trying to refurbish rather than replace where possible. We have one 'new' Lewmar hatch put in by a previous owner where our aft companionway used to be with the plastic handles are already half broken... We will get rid of this hatch and reinstate the companionway again this summer.

All other hatches on Kairos are still the original (Goiot) ones ...

All the best and fair winds

Stefan
