Swan 38 Spinnaker pole channel drains

Hello.  Both spinnaker pole channel drains have blocked.  Is there a preferred way to clear them?  I've tried with a piece of wire and high-pressure blast of water but neither has cleared the blockages.  (The drain hoses go though some quite tight corners.) Any advice most gratefully received.

Dear John and Sue,

you are correct, there is a tight corner at the end of the hose, did you try with a wire (the same one electricians work with when they have to follow a hidden hose underneath a wall should work very well) starting from the end, just above  water level? It should work.

Please keep us updated.

Dear John and Sue,

If you can't clear the spinnaker pole channel drain hoses, they can be replaced. I did it on our Infant (38/014). To get access to the deck ends of the hoses I had to cut out part of the grp-cover inside the oilskin locker and above the fridge. The latter cut I had to cover by constructing a teak casing. The result is good.

Best regards

Jyrki
