Mast base 411

Hello dear mebers, I am restoring my mast base and need an advice.

I get a new Mast base and I want to galvanize it.

I am not sure, if galvanizing is the right thing. is that may be contra produktiv?

would be happy for any advice.

Yes, galvanizing is the correct procedure.

Could you please send some more and detailed photos, before/after?

Thank you Matteo, ok, than it is no brainer any more!

 

For the shoe i made a mold and themn the model, so the metall worker is having a template of the Mast.

 

Since the Mast is corroded too i will do it like Christian on his 411 with a aluminium insert and fiberglassing for galvanic insulation.

 

New wiring i have to do too.

Is there some think to know taking the mast out???

because it is a two part one.

Dear Stefan,

mast base/step (and mast, of course) are connected to the keel for corrected grounding, and must be.

Ah, verry good you are reminding me, i would have forgot to make a wire from the mast since it will be isolated - thanks matteo!
