Swan 41 mast maintenance Dear Fellow Swan Owners, Later this month we will have our 1979 Swan 41 re-rigged (though there are no sign of impending failure, the rigging is original except for the backstay). While the mast is out, I would like to apply some sort of protective coating to the whole mast. I've been considering a marine grade wax or Owatrol Marine Oil (which I've applied to our aluminum toe rail and it has stopped further galvanic corrosion admirably). What are others' recommendations? Is there a better option I'm missing? Thanks. Mark (S/V Anthea) |

I do not know the oil you mention but a very good product is plain vaseline oil. It does what you require and it is relatively cheap. |
