Blakes seacocks parts, where to find?
Hello all,

Does anyone know if the Blakes seacocks parts listed in the pictured below are still available? If yes, where?

Dear Ice,

it is strongly recommended you not to mix parts from different seacocks, but of course you can buy brand new ones from http://www.blakes-lavac-taylors.co.uk/blakes_seacocks.htm. They now have only two available size (3/4 and 1 1/2)

If you need to add material to the center plugs one possibility is to use Belzona epoxy based composite repair material.

Dear Lars,
your post is like a light in the dark! I always thought that bronze was an alloy to what nothing (but barnacles!) adheres; not long ago I myself tried to fill the pits of my battened MaxProp with an epoxy compound made for fiberglass - a total failure even if I prepared the substrate with a lot of care.
Now Belzona comes out with something that might work: it appears almost like a miracle!
I looked at their site and apparently the proper product is 1151 although they do not explicitly mention bronze. Do you confirm and have actual reports on applications over bronze?
I would be very interested in testing it on my Blakes cones and on my propeller, all badly pitted.

I have the recommendation from a reliable source, but have no personal hands-on experience. Suggest you seek the manufacturer's advice for your application.
