Suunto D-165
Dear All,

My compass lens is badly crazed and the fluid has got very low. Does anyone have any recommendations on an equivalent replacement to fit the binnacle/ or repair. Most of my enquiries seem to say they are no longer made or have parts for service.

Hi Rob
I had the same problem a couple of years ago
I found someone who could do the repairs as follows

Andrews Compass Service
P.O. Box 1122
Mattapoisett, MA 02739

In the end I did not use them as I found a new one in a chandlery in their very old stock on display in the window

We had the same problem and replaced the Suunto with a Plath which I had seen on a Swan 47, and which fits exactly.

Hello everyone.
I would like to add our experience on the subject. On lots of our darlings there no protection tube over the compass and people tend to grab the dome to hold themselves when moving around. THis creates the type of crasing which appears on your picture. We did this twice until we added a protection bar over our compass. Problem solved!!
Kind regards.
