S&S Swan Maintenance - SCANSTRUT backstay radar mount

SCANSTRUT backstay radar mount On my Swan 40 I have a 4 kw radar dome mounted on a stern pole. As I intend to install windvane steering I want to eliminate the pole. Scanstrut make a backstay radar mount http://scanstrut.com/products/product-page.php?range_id=10009&type=Sailboats which could solve the problem of where to put the radar dome. Does anyone have experience with the Scanstrut product ?

Richard:: I chose their mast mount, not wanting to effect the backstay load path, plus I wanted the output energy a little higher up (first spreader). I'm happy with it. Every now and then a halyard or topping lift gets behind and it takes a little effort to clear but radar performance is good, wiring was easy, etc. As for the mount, it works well.
