Drainage os spinnakker pole gutter
Dear members,

It appears the starboard drain of the spinnaker pole gutter is leaking. It is probably the hose connection to the drain located above the kitchen. Does anyone know how to reach that connection ? It seems it it inside a sort of GRP tunnel.

Best regards,
Jan

Dear Jan
You are right that the drain hose is inside a GRP cover. Suggest you remove the teak handrail above the cover, perhaps it can be seen how the cover is attached. It is likely that this was done too well :-)
Kind regards
Lars

Dear Lars,

Thanks for your reply. I was already afraid for your answer 😟. The handrail is impossible to take off. All screws are unmovable. Don't know why. Seems a task for a boatyard.
Or shall I saw the GRP tunnel open ?

Best regards,

Dear Jan
There are aluminium backing plates for the screws, and it is likely that there is corrosion by now making the threads very tight. Impact screw driver suggested.
If you prefer not to fight with the handrail screws you could well saw off the GRP cover, and replace it with a nicer teak one, attached with small screws only.
Kind regards
Lars

Dear Lars,

Ok. Now I understand. Then I will stop fighting the handrails.
And you suggestion for a teak tunnel is brilliant !
Thanks very much : I will go for that option.

Best regards,
