44 main halyard winch service

Wondering safa's main halyard winch which should be cleaned and greased ... In the photo is a small hole under the handle's place, what for is that? For service, should I open those 3 screws (very tight!) to open the drum?

Dear SAFA

Suggest you consult the Lewmar Service Manuals available in the Forum Maintenance Manual section.
Do not grease the brake.
