Land transportation of Swan 38 Norway to Finland
My Swan 38 "Pirate" is presently laid out in a marina in the city of Bodo in Norway. I wish to know whether it will be possible to transport the boat (mast unstepped of course) from Bodo in Norway to Kokkola, in Finland, for some upgrades and repairs in a yard there (or alternatively at the Nautor yard in Pietersaari). The height of the yacht is 3.88 m, with deck gear removed 3.57 m, to this the distance the keel is off the road on the trailer has to be added.

My questions are:

(1) Is this feasible, as the truck will have to go through tunnels from North Norway to North Finland?

(2) Do you know and/or recommend any transport company that I can contact?

(3) Have any of you had the experience?

Juan,

you could contact http://www.aholatransport.fi/. I'm sure you won't have any problems with the height. Just remove the pulpits, steering wheel and dorade vents like I did in my 411 in order to reduse the height of the yacht to 4,2 m.
