Hull stern crack gelcoat

Hi, as stated in my tread about the keel, heres number 2:

Have a look at the stern from from below. Where the two sides of the hull ahve been joined there is a weird gelcoat stripe that looks like a repair. it goes all way to the edge of the vertical surface. i nthe vertical surface there is a tiny crack coming from the repaired part extending about 10 cm into the surface. On the inside i saw nothing unusual.

Any idea what happened here or has somebody experienced similar cracks?

Cheers and thanks, Timo

Timo
The hull is made of two halves, and the topcoat stripe covers the joint. The joint continues up onto the transom, but has been smoothened. The crack is cosmetic, on the inside there is thicker laminate for the backstay chainplate knee,

Dear Lars, thanks for your help! I understand this poses no problem.

The stripe is original then?

Cheers Timo
