Boat Yard - Rigger, Recommendation for Opua, New Zealand

Currently sailing through the Society Islands, and heading for Opua, New Zealand.

Looking for a recommendation for a boat yard in NZ, that someone has had work done and is satisfied with skilled workmanship.

Planning on possibly having the upper rudder bearing replaced, repack lower rudder bearing, rudder lock at pedestal repaired, and new bottom paint (Copper Coat).

Also, recommendation of a Rigger, preferably near Opua, that someone has used and is satisfied.  Planning at minimum to replace the roller furling unit, and forestay.

Many thanks,

Skip White

Hi,

Check with the guy doing the youtube channel "Untide", he is renovating an old Swan 36 in NZ. He fixed it up in UK and sailed to NZ but aparently his fixing was not thorough enough considering the state of the boat when he took it over.

He seems to be very happy with the yard and keeps recommending it.

He fixes things by himself but get help from the yard and they seem to be OK.

All the best!
